A meal planner is a very useful tool applied when undergoing nutrition and diet therapy. It is designed to guide meal choices and food intake in accordance with one day’s calorie allowance. To use the meal planner, you have to choose your allowable caloric intake for the day and then choose a meal. For each of your meals you are provided with food choices according to the food groups in the (ADA) American Dietetic Association exchange list. If you choose a food item, you need to choose the number of serving too, based on the ADA exchange list.
