Is there discipline required to be successful in this food and exercise regime. I answer you in the loudest voice possible YES. The discipline that I would LOVE YOU to exercise is to make a decision that nothing is more important than that you feel good with this new found way to loose weight and gain control once more of your life decisions. The food diet is to assist you in loosing weight and the desire of the old way of eating to die a quick death and never more to return.
In exercising you feel the pain in carrying these exercises out but certainly worth it as the pain over a period of time leaves and this occurs in a very short period of time. It is my experience that now that I’m doing these exercises for the past 5 weeks they have become easier as time goes on and I now look forward to them and sweating. I know that while I am sweating I am helping my body to loose the weight and to become fit and for me to feel very good about me and my circumstances.
When I eat now I am well aware of the nutritional value in the foods I prepare and eat. All my large plates have gone to the local boot sales [Thank you Tom] as have anything else associated with largeness. You don’t have to do this but I done it for me. I said to myself I will not have anything that is available to me to use that would be large and I have got rid of a lot of pans, bowls and one fridge freezer. When I now shop which is usually three times per week I get fresh wholesome foods for 2 days and for my last fridge freezer I get frozen vegetables and white fish. I no longer get any type of red meat or pork. Come to that I rarely use chicken now. I like to experiment with the various herbs, fruit and vegetables. There is so much you can do with these for juicing, smoothies and there are so many recipes to try out. You can have Vegetable Juices, Fruit Juices, Green Smoothies and Fruit Smoothies. You can purchase frozen berries of all types and keep in the freezer.
I now that if you have a young family that all of this could become too much for you and you could quiet quickly slide back into the old habits but remember this is for you. You need to see the value in staying in this program and working out the minute details so you get to eat what you need from your diet and get to do your exercises.
We have chased this wonderful body for so long and now we are in the process of getting it so do not press that destruct button or allow anyone else to push your buttons so you give up. This program yes you may fall a few times as I have myself but you have to get up dust yourself down and get back into the swing of dieting and exercising again. It all takes time to work and when you see the difference in clothes sizes and you feeling a bit lighter and less pains in the joints you see, feel and are part of the solution now, so don’t go and destroy that. There will be times and tears will flow and one becomes emotional and feel lost at these times send an e-mail to me and if you have not yet got a lose-it buddy in your locality, perhaps now is a good time to find one. There is no limit to how many lose-it buddies you can have, the more the merrier says I.
We are all in this boat together rowing the same way in that our goals are similar in lose the weight and become fit again and above all to maintain this fitness once weight control has been achieved. I am continually proving to myself that I can do this. By continuing to stay on my diet and exercising I am losing the weight gradually. I set out to lose the weight not over night but slowly and that I could maintain the body without the weight going back on. So far I have done this and achieved it with family, friends and those on my journey whose help has enabled me through very difficult times to carry on and in all honesty I am so glad I have.
I still have a long way to go but together we will get there. The road gets shorter each day.
